Benny Award Winner 2012

The Benny Award is the highest honour that can be awarded
to an entertainer in New Zealand.
Each year the VAC present the Benny Award to an Entertainer who has
achieved a lifetime of excellence in their field of the performing arts.

The Benny Award is named after legendary variety performer Edgar Benyon 1902 to 1978 who toured the world with magic, ventriloquism, juggling, rag pictures, quick change contortions and impressions.
Past recipients include many household names and figureheads of entertainment in the country. Ray Columbus MBE, Ray Woolf MNZM, Gray Bartlett MBE, Suzanne Lynch MNZM, Gary Daverne ONZM. Guy Cater, Alan Watson, to name a few.

The Benny truly is the supreme award of excellence of the New Zealand Entertainment Industry.
